Death and Disease
At a recent lecture, the presenter threw out the challenge of a concept depicting some member of the animal kingdom that would appear insignificant, but was in fact, very dangerous. Immediately I thought of the not-so-innocent house fly. The house fly (Musca domestica) is believed to transmit harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and E.coli. According to Penn State Department of Entomology, house flies are suspected of transmitting as many as 65 diseases to humans. Yuck!
